Audience Feedback

Documentary feedback from YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrJUUJDFTdg

According to our youtube feedback, our documentary was clear to understand and has a variety of different topics throughout the first five minutes to keep the audience interested. however the downfalls where that the editing could have been sharper in places and that the voice over was not as enthusiastic as the audience would have liked.

Documentary feedback from Facebook:

Overall our facebook feedback was positive, with every one agreeing that they would want to watch the rest of the documentary after seeing only the first five minutes. Our strengths according to the audience were; very informative, variety of different topics, relative cutaways and the interviews used. Our weaknesses were; the voice over was not edited neatly and that some cut aways are not on the screen for long enough. however the audience agreed with the song choice and thought that it was appropriate. Our filming quality was rated mostly 5/5 with some 4/5 however either way the documentary is rated in the top band.

Permission for Under 16year olds

We used some footage of children under the age of 16 in our documentary and therefore we had to get written permission off of the parent/guardian to confirm that we could use the footage.

Magic Pencil Tool on Photoshop, to cut out only his head

Magic Pencil Tool, to cut out around the pound coin

We took the original picture off the coin by using the Clone Stamp Tool and painting over the design

As the painting was taking a while to do, once  we had done a fair amount of cloning, we used the Lasso Tool, to select a particular part of the clone.

We then copied the part that we selected and pasted it several times until it filled the whole coin and then looked like this.

Once we had imported the cow onto the coin, we used the Elliptical Marqee Tool to put a circle around the coin, just to remove the rough edges and make it look smoother.

However, we accidentally cut off some of the cow's ear whilst using the Magic Pencil Tool, so we had to start again...

This is what the coin looked like, once we imported the improved cow's head

The coin still didn't look real, so we had to emboss the cow layer. However the Emboss tool made the head look silver, so we made an extra layer, and made it a transparent gold colour, to blend in the colour of the cow into the gold coin.

This was the original layout of the print advert, however leaving the background white didn't follow the codes and conventions of a BBC1 newspaper advert.

We liked this layout, but we didn't like the gold boxes around the text, as it took the attention away from the image.

Here are many of the other print advert layouts we decided we could choose from.

We then agreed on this :

Recording and editing radio trailer

First we had to cut the sections we needed out of one large, whole sequence by using the bracket tools and dragging what we wanted down onto the timeline.

Once every clip was on the time line we had to rearrange each section and put them where we needed them according to the radio script. This was done by simply dragging each clip further up or further down the timeline with the mouse so that there was no gaps or jumps in our sequence.

After we had sorted all our clips in the correct place we then added a music bed, this was simply dragging the music file onto the timeline and placing it in the right place so that it ran smoothly, and cut out bits that were not needed.

After all our clips where on the timeline and the music was in place we had to make sure all our clips were finely edited so that they ran perfectly and also the music was placed in every place it was needed.

Voice over recording

In order to record our voice over we had to use equipment in our school from the radio studio. This was somewhat difficult to use however once it was set up all we had to do was adjust sound levels or press stop and create a new sequence if something was said incorrectly, it was then saved to the user shared and imported onto our documentary.
